Who We Are
The Family Christmas Ball celebrates the importance of family love and sharing, which particularly comes into focus during the Christmas season. The Family Christmas Ball was started Calgary in 1983 by 13 “founding” families. In the spirit of giving, these families made a conscious decision to share their blessings with those less fortunate through donations to the Calgary Minerva Foundation, and most recently in partnership with Place2Give.
The Family Ball is entirely self-funded through ticket sales, and all of the organizers are volunteers. Individual and corporate donors are invited to consider making a charitable gift. 100% of the donations are given to the selected charities.
This year, we are pleased to continue to support:
Seniors Secret Service, and Calgary Single Mothers' Society.
Family Christmas Ball
This is the 40th Anniversary of the Family Christmas Ball. The Committee is excited to host this year’s event on Saturday, December 20th 2025 at the beautiful Crystal Ballroom at the Fairmont Palliser Hotel. The evening starts with a cocktail hour followed by dinner, Christmas carols and dancing into the wee hours with a live band. The evening is full of fun and surprises. The Family Christmas Ball is a wonderful opportunity for families and friends to come together to celebrate the season. Everyone is welcome.
Please note children attending must be at least 12 years old or in grade seven.
